Loreal Infallible 24hr Matt Foundation

Welcome back! Today I had to share with you my newest foundation obsession - the Loreal Infallible 24hr Matte. I had previously been using the Rimmel Wake Me Up Foundation which I also love, but was finding as it is getting hotter I am starting to look a lot more shiny throughout the day which isn't cool!

I use the Real Techniques foundation brush to apply this which makes it go on like a breeze. Super easy to blend and settles into the skin quickly. You can find that HERE!

One frustrating thing about drugstore foundations is the lack of testers / samples / make up assistant to give you the correct match. It becomes a guessing game! I went with a slightly lighter yellow undertone in 30 Honey and also a slightly darker red undertone in 24 Golden Beige.
At the moment I am mixing the both of them into my skin to create a perfect match but can see that the darker one will be perfect in the middle of summer and the lighter will be pretty perfect for winter. I am olive toned skin that can tan and am oily / combination.

This is how it looks on the face after a few hours of wear - no shine! I am loving this for summer in Brisbane and have worn it on some really long work days and its held up so well. I'm talking applying it at 6.30am and not removing it until 11pm at night!
I had to share as cheaper foundations that do the job well are worth sharing! You can find the foundation HERE!

The Factor 50

Welcome back, and can I just say I am rather chuffed at myself for posting ever week for the past month or so - big high five to you if you've read every post.
That makes you a part of Adorn Beauty, which makes me happy so thank you!
~
Today I wanted to share a new product I've been using that gosh darn it I never thought I would really focus too much on.

Good ol skin care in its most basic format, sunscreen.
~
For pretty much all my life I have not paid too much attention to sunscreen, sure being an Aussie kid meant you had to lather it on and have that great white sheen to your entire body at the beach, thanks parents, but other than that I never really gave it much thought.
~
Fast forward to me being a teenager who dreamt of living by the ocean, wearing a different bikini every day and rejoicing in the fact that I was graced with skin that 'caught the sun' as the English say (Dads work on the skin there, Mum is a burner - thanks Dad!).
So I was the girl at summer camp who wore SPF 4 (I am not even kidding), and I wouldn't even bother to put anything on my face (cue me on a flight after said summer camp with swollen burnt lips).
However now I am starting to see there is a slight error in my ways, mostly in the fact that I've realised I don't want to look like this one day:

Not ideal. I have also moved to Brisbane, or what Australian's refer to as The Sunshine State. I think its this with a realisation that I'm not going to get new fresh skin anytime soon that I started looking into wearing sunscreen on a daily basis.
Thats where the Mecca Cosmetica Sunscreen in 50+ comes in. This beauty is actually new to the scene, they have had the 30+ version for a few years now, one that they worked on the formula for over 5 years on to get just right and this newest version is no different. It took them 4 years to develop this one, because as you can imagine trying to get in a higher SPF count but not create a grease face is a tough thing to do! However I am happy to say that they have done it and passed with flying colours.
~
I have been wearing this on my face everyday as a primer / moisturiser prior to putting on my foundation and it is working a treat. It has a slight pink tint to it but rubs in easy and isn't greasy or thick whatsoever. Having the moisturiser in there too is brilliant, I get to combine skincare steps which the lazy girl in me rejoices in!
~
The other wonderful thing about this is the smell! It smells SO good, it actually reminds me of this incredible olive oil moisturiser that I purchased from an olive oil farm in Italy that I cannot purchase online (sob sob), so the fact that this smell brings me right back to sun kissed days in Italy pleases me immensely.
~
I have noticed that later on in the day my face is a bit more shiny that prior to using, but as I have oily skin this is not a surprise. I am just finding I pop on some Rimmel Stay Matt Pressed Powder in the afternoon which stops any greasy look for me.
~
So on a scale of 1 to 10 in recommending I would go with an 9 as it working wonders for me, smells incredible and I am rather chuffed that I have upped my sun care game!
~
Do you use sunscreen daily? If so do you love what your using? Let me know, this is a whole new world for me to explore!

I. Cant. Stop. Using. It!!!!
~
Question? Any of you out there in the inter webs have all three Naked Palettes? If yes then do you recommend one over another? Or think it is worth owning more than one? These are the things I ponder.
~
Its just so pretty!
~
That is all for today, I will do a FOTD (face of the day) using this bad boy soon!
Happy Monday to you all

The Red Lip

bold red lip with mascara and bronzer

71Jules PUCKER UP ALL YOU RED POUTY LIPS
Love the smoky eyes and bright lipstick

contour & red lips

The Red Lip, a classic and timeless look. The perfect go to look when you don't actually want to wear a lot of makeup but still make an impact with it, the perfect stand out look, easy but effective and overall a very fun and confidence boosting look! No wonder its a classic!
Today I'm going to show you the steps I take to get my version of the perfect red lip.
Tip: go for a blue undertone in your red lipstick to make your teeth appear whiter!

My Red Lip Essentials:
Lush Lip Scrub - LINK!
EOS Lip Balm - LINK!
Mac Lip Liner in 'Cherry' - LINK!
Revlon Lipstick in 'True Red' - LINK!

Step 1:
First up, I scrub my lips with this Lush Lip Scrub in Bubblegum to remove any flaky bits and dead skin so I am working with a clean surface!

Step 2:
I apply a lip balm, a firm favourite is the EOS Lip Balms, this one in is strawberry, however any lip balm will do; you just want to put some moisture back into your lips.

Step 3:
Lip Liner! A step so many people leave out, but such an important one. If you want your lipstick to last for well over half a day (which includes eating), then lip liner is a must! Mac's Cherry is by far the best I have found.

I know I look cuckoo but i always do the outline first and take my time to make sure it right.

Then I fill the entire lip in. You could leave it here if you are wanting to go for a matte look lip, otherwise it is the perfect base for your lipstick.

Final step apply the lippy, I love this revlon one in True Red, it has the perfect colouring for my skin. I find with the blue undertones it gives the teeth a nice glow!

tada! My perfect red lip, what do you think? Any steps you take that i've missed out? Whats your favourite red lipstick? I am always on the lookout for more!

My Makeup Must Have's

Hello everyone, happy weekend to you!
Today I have a post all about my make-up must haves. These are my ultimate holy grail products, the ones I always have in my make-up collection, the ones I put on almost everyday, the tried and tested, and the ones I use when I am half asleep and need to get ready in a flash! So really they are my favorite of favorites!
Whooo, ok lets get into it! Disclaimer: I am addicted to these items so I wish to apologise for the state they are in, yes they are used everyday; therefore they are dirty, hitting pan and overall very loved!

Bobbi Brown Creamy Corrector - LINK!
Bourjois Healthy Mix Concealer - LINK!

~

First up, my two all time favorite concealer's. I sadly always have dark circles under my eyes regardless of how much sleep I get so I have been on the search for years to find a concealer that actually works! The Bobbi Brown Corrector is a gem, as it is a corrector instead of a concealer, which means it is made to do just that - correct discolouration as oposed to conceal a blemish. The trick that works perfectly for me is to always looks for peach / pink undtertones, as that counteracts the blue undertones in dark circles. The Bourjois Healthy Mix Concealer is amazing, and cheaper too! I have found the most perfect way to apply it; I place it under my eyes in a v shape, then I leave it for a few minutes while I fill in my eyebrows. This allows it to sink into the skin as it is very thick, then it dries in an almost powdered form so I can just blend out the edges with my finger and volia! Dark circles? Where?!

Mineralize Skin Finish - Soft and Gentle - LINK!
Nars Bronzer - Laguna - LINK!

~

Ohhhh the highlighter, I don’t know what I was doing before I started using Soft and Gentle. This in on my face everyday! I am obsessed! It is such a beautiful product in itself, I tend to catch myself staring at it - and the best bit is that the amazing glimmer and colour of it does transfer onto the skin beautifully. I am in love with this product, we may get married one day and have soft and gentle babies.... slightly wired? Hrm nope, I am obsessed and this will forever be my most used item, and will always be re purchased!

The Nars Bronzer in Laguna is one of those bronzers that have been hyped to hype-ville by the blog world. It is a great matt bronzer, but.... well.... I am sure there are others out there that do the same thing at a fraction of the cost. I am yet to find one however so I do use this everyday. Its used on me as a contour colour for my cheekbones and around my temple. Its a soft colour, easily bendable and no shimmer so it truly works as a perfect contour.

Rimmel Wake Me Up Foundation - LINK!

This foundation is my. all. time. favourite. foundation.

yeah i went there.

Previous to using this I had Chanel's Perfection Lumiere and slight secret here - they are almost exactly the same! So at a fraction of the cost, and with slightly more coverage you can’t go past this beaut. It claims to have a anti-fatigue effect which translates to tiny particles of shimmer throughout the foundation, but once applied it isn’t noticeable whatsoever, if anything it gives you a 'glow'

I have already been through 3 bottles and I ain't stopping!

Maybelline Eye Studio Lasting Drama Gel Pot Liner - LINK!

This is the best gel eyeliner I am yet to find. I have previously used Napolean Perdis but it dried up so fast! This one I have had for such a long time, it hasnt dried up whatsoever, is extreamly black, stays in place all day and isn't a pain in the butt to get off! It's lurvvveeee. I have used so much but it really is the gift that keeps on giving, and at its price point it is a steal!

Clinique Eyeshadow: LINK!

This is what I use to fill in my eyebrows on the daily. I have very very light eyebrows as my natural hair color is a light moussy brown, so to get a bit more definition I like to use a powder to add color and show the shape of my brows a bit more. Most eyebrow pencils and powders I have tried for brown hair have an almost orange undertone which I do not like at all! For brown hair like mine, you need to get a cool undertone color to ensure you dont get that 'oh you drew your eyebrows on today i see' comment/looks from people! This one is actually a Clinique eyeshadow that my Mum gave me years ago, but it is the most perfect color I just cant stop using it! It is a matt color which is the most important thing to look for, I love using an angle brush to apply it and having a spooly brush on the other side is great to brush it out to even the color!

Mac Lipstick, Cremesheen in Shy Girl - LINK!

Last but not least is my go to lip color, this is the lipstick I'll grab when running out the door, when I dont know what to wear and when I have heavy eye makeup on. It is the perfect nude, becasue it has coral / pink undertones it doesnt give you that look of concealer on the lips, but instead a nude that blends into the lips perfectly. I will always have one of these babies in my lipstick collection!

~

So there we have it, my makeup must haves. Do you have any of these products? Will you be likely to look into them? Any of your makeup must haves you want to share? I am always on the search for more amazing must have products!

Have a great weekend!

Bourjois Paris ~ Color Boost

Hi Everyone,

Today I have to share with you my newest addition to the lip collection.
The Bourjois Color Boost in Peach On The Beach (cutest name ever?!).
This is the perfect coral / pink / peach color. It comes in crayon format, which is basically making it a dupe for the Clinique chubby sticks, but at a fraction of the cost you can’t go wrong!
It's extremely creamy when first applied and after a few hours the moisture goes but the color stays, and the color is highly pigmented which makes this little guy a favourite for me!
I am now looking into the other colors they have, I think the Fuchsia color would be really gorgeous as a bright lip with just layers and layers of mascara.
Let me know what you think - which color would you go for?

xoxo
