Health Food Recipe: Tropical Fruit Bite Balls

Hi everyone,
Today I have a bit of a different post for you all, it's one of my go to recipes that I make almost every week. I've adapted it over time to get it to the flavour that I love.
This is a perfect morning snack to have with a cuppa tea or a coffee ~ its full of dried fruit which will give you a nice glucose sugar hit to get you through the rest of your day, the nuts will help to keep you full until lunch and are said to be a great weight loss food, and the coconut water helps to hydrate you plus it tastes delicious!
I do just make it up in batches of the size I want for that week and I guesstimate the quantities of each ingredient, so ive guessed 'about' how much I use in 'handful amounts'

Ingredients:
4-5 Handfuls of Apricots
2-4 Handfuls of Walnuts
1-2 Handfuls of dried Cranberries
2 Handfuls of shredded Coconut
1 Passionfruit
1/4 cup Coconut Water
1 cup of Desiccated Coconut
Some Baking Paper

Method:

1: In a large bowl, put in your passionfruit, shredded coconut and dried cranberries

2: Chop up apricots and walnuts. You can use a food processor or just cut them up; I actually use scissors to cut them up!

3: Add in passionfruit and coconut water and mix up with hands

4: Grab small handfuls of the mixture and start to squeeze it together to form a ball shape, keep squeezing until when you release the ball it stays in shape and isn't falling apart.

5: Place desiccated coconut on some baking paper and put your ball onto the coconut. Cover ball in the coconut until completely covered

Place in container in the freezer and viola! Juicy, yummy, tasty, refreshing tropical bite balls at a pull of a freezer door!
~
I hope you liked this post, let me know if you make them and what you think! I love making my own snacks to have during the week at work, so much healthier than packet stuff!

My Makeup Must Have's

Hello everyone, happy weekend to you!
Today I have a post all about my make-up must haves. These are my ultimate holy grail products, the ones I always have in my make-up collection, the ones I put on almost everyday, the tried and tested, and the ones I use when I am half asleep and need to get ready in a flash! So really they are my favorite of favorites!
Whooo, ok lets get into it! Disclaimer: I am addicted to these items so I wish to apologise for the state they are in, yes they are used everyday; therefore they are dirty, hitting pan and overall very loved!

Bobbi Brown Creamy Corrector - LINK!
Bourjois Healthy Mix Concealer - LINK!

~

First up, my two all time favorite concealer's. I sadly always have dark circles under my eyes regardless of how much sleep I get so I have been on the search for years to find a concealer that actually works! The Bobbi Brown Corrector is a gem, as it is a corrector instead of a concealer, which means it is made to do just that - correct discolouration as oposed to conceal a blemish. The trick that works perfectly for me is to always looks for peach / pink undtertones, as that counteracts the blue undertones in dark circles. The Bourjois Healthy Mix Concealer is amazing, and cheaper too! I have found the most perfect way to apply it; I place it under my eyes in a v shape, then I leave it for a few minutes while I fill in my eyebrows. This allows it to sink into the skin as it is very thick, then it dries in an almost powdered form so I can just blend out the edges with my finger and volia! Dark circles? Where?!

Mineralize Skin Finish - Soft and Gentle - LINK!
Nars Bronzer - Laguna - LINK!

~

Ohhhh the highlighter, I don’t know what I was doing before I started using Soft and Gentle. This in on my face everyday! I am obsessed! It is such a beautiful product in itself, I tend to catch myself staring at it - and the best bit is that the amazing glimmer and colour of it does transfer onto the skin beautifully. I am in love with this product, we may get married one day and have soft and gentle babies.... slightly wired? Hrm nope, I am obsessed and this will forever be my most used item, and will always be re purchased!

The Nars Bronzer in Laguna is one of those bronzers that have been hyped to hype-ville by the blog world. It is a great matt bronzer, but.... well.... I am sure there are others out there that do the same thing at a fraction of the cost. I am yet to find one however so I do use this everyday. Its used on me as a contour colour for my cheekbones and around my temple. Its a soft colour, easily bendable and no shimmer so it truly works as a perfect contour.

Rimmel Wake Me Up Foundation - LINK!

This foundation is my. all. time. favourite. foundation.

yeah i went there.

Previous to using this I had Chanel's Perfection Lumiere and slight secret here - they are almost exactly the same! So at a fraction of the cost, and with slightly more coverage you can’t go past this beaut. It claims to have a anti-fatigue effect which translates to tiny particles of shimmer throughout the foundation, but once applied it isn’t noticeable whatsoever, if anything it gives you a 'glow'

I have already been through 3 bottles and I ain't stopping!

Maybelline Eye Studio Lasting Drama Gel Pot Liner - LINK!

This is the best gel eyeliner I am yet to find. I have previously used Napolean Perdis but it dried up so fast! This one I have had for such a long time, it hasnt dried up whatsoever, is extreamly black, stays in place all day and isn't a pain in the butt to get off! It's lurvvveeee. I have used so much but it really is the gift that keeps on giving, and at its price point it is a steal!

Clinique Eyeshadow: LINK!

This is what I use to fill in my eyebrows on the daily. I have very very light eyebrows as my natural hair color is a light moussy brown, so to get a bit more definition I like to use a powder to add color and show the shape of my brows a bit more. Most eyebrow pencils and powders I have tried for brown hair have an almost orange undertone which I do not like at all! For brown hair like mine, you need to get a cool undertone color to ensure you dont get that 'oh you drew your eyebrows on today i see' comment/looks from people! This one is actually a Clinique eyeshadow that my Mum gave me years ago, but it is the most perfect color I just cant stop using it! It is a matt color which is the most important thing to look for, I love using an angle brush to apply it and having a spooly brush on the other side is great to brush it out to even the color!

Mac Lipstick, Cremesheen in Shy Girl - LINK!

Last but not least is my go to lip color, this is the lipstick I'll grab when running out the door, when I dont know what to wear and when I have heavy eye makeup on. It is the perfect nude, becasue it has coral / pink undertones it doesnt give you that look of concealer on the lips, but instead a nude that blends into the lips perfectly. I will always have one of these babies in my lipstick collection!

So there we have it, my makeup must haves. Do you have any of these products? Will you be likely to look into them? Any of your makeup must haves you want to share? I am always on the search for more amazing must have products!

Have a great weekend!
xoxo

Bourjois Paris ~ Color Boost

Hi Everyone,

Today I have to share with you my newest addition to the lip collection.
The Bourjois Color Boost in Peach On The Beach (cutest name ever?!).
This is the perfect coral / pink / peach color. It comes in crayon format, which is basically making it a dupe for the Clinique chubby sticks, but at a fraction of the cost you can’t go wrong!
It's extremely creamy when first applied and after a few hours the moisture goes but the color stays, and the color is highly pigmented which makes this little guy a favourite for me!
I am now looking into the other colors they have, I think the Fuchsia color would be really gorgeous as a bright lip with just layers and layers of mascara.
Let me know what you think - which color would you go for?

xoxo

My Visual Motivation ~ How I Get Happy!

Hello there,
Below you will find my current visual motivation 'board', which I truly thinks is so beneficial - why else would Pinterest and Instagram take off as fast as they did?
The power that self-motivation can have on an individual is astounding, and it is something I am attempting to tap into.
~
The ability to have a positive frame of mind, within yourself and with all those around you I believe can truly change how you live your life and the dreams you can conquer. It’s all about becoming 'mindful' of how you see things and how you allow yourself to think. Ultimately the only person who has control over how you see yourself, your surroundings and the things that you encounter each day is you! Therefore, why not make the conscious decision to embrace everything in a positive way?
~
Easier said than done I know! I really do believe if you can acknowledge how you think about things, you can then make the choice to change it. How often do you find the voice in your head saying negative things? 'I don’t want to get out of bed, I don’t want to go to work, I look like crap today, why doesn’t my hair look nice like a, b and c, that person was really rude my day is ruined, I am so sick of today etc etc etc.' It is so easy to do and often you probably don’t even realise you’re doing it. You might have a pretty good day, and then when someone asks how your day was you say it was horrible, based on how you let your internal voice view the day. How easy is it to be having a good day, and then your coffee order is wrong, so you instantly think the rest of the day is going to be bad, and the one thing that wasn’t ideal ruins a perfectly good day? Why is it that if your happy one thing can make you upset, yet if your upset multiple things have to happen to make you happy again?
~
The small step I have taken to create a positive frame of mind is by counteracting all those negative thoughts that creep up during my day. The voice in my head (I am not crazy I promise!) says: 'I don’t want to get out of bed' so I think about all the things in the day I'm looking forward to, I say to myself, 'if I get up, I get my yummy breakfast (I am really addicted to it by the way!), I make myself find a positive to outweigh that negative thought. Even if it’s as little as 'I'll get to bed earlier tonight and get a big sleep in' I just try to acknowledge the negative and find more positives so that I am outweighing that negative thought.
~
Another extremely helpful thing for me is visual motivation. When I can't be bothered to work out, I look up fitness pictures and quotes and it gets me motivated to get up and go, when I am having a 'meh' day I search out positive quotes and it puts me into a better frame of mind to get through the rest of my day in a better way. I save the images to my phone so I can get constant visual reminders to think happy, drink more water, look for the good etc. I pin them on Pinterest - HERE! and post them on Instagram - HERE!
~
It all helps to being 'mindful' and is making me become a happier, more positive person on a day to day basis, it's allowing me to think of myself in a more positive light which in turn is making my dreams and goals become bigger and seem more achievable!
~
So have a looksee at my current favourite visual motivations and then let me know how you get happy!
xoxo
