What I Wore: Her Fashion Box Edition #1

Hello beautiful people, happy ALMOST New Year to you!
Today for my last post of 2013 I have an outfit of the day which is incorporating my two favourite items from my December Her Fashion Box.
(If your not sure what this is, then read THIS blog to learn all about it!)

~
My December box held two beautiful jewellery pieces in it this month, both of which I adore, so I chose to feature them for this months post of HFB (there may be another post coming up as well to do with the December box - I really loved it!)

First up are these gorgeous blue jewelled studs. Such a lovely vibrant colour - perfect for a monochrome look if you want to add a touch of colour.

Next was this statement necklace. Look. How. Beautiful. It. Is! I have been wearing this bad boy non-stop! It honestly goes with everything and is that perfect piece to add to an otherwise basic outfit, or to add more glam to a work outfit or going out look.

Alias, here is my Outfit Of The Day - a casual basic Sunday outfit on a hot summers day. What I love is that the jewellery adds a nice touch to a simple shorts a tee look.

Tee: Ice Fashion (of all places! Got to love a random find hehe) - LINK!

I love the colour of these very much, its a blue/almost purple and oh so pretty

Happy New Year to each and everyone of you, I hope 2013 brought you happiness and I hope 2014 will bring you even more ♥

Recipe: Watermelon Salad

Hello there, and welcome back to my little space
Today I have a recipe that is just too yummy not to share. You know that when your thinking about how good your asparagus tasted in the middle of your workday that you did something right!
So here is my Watermelon salad recipe. This may have come about because I got a tad too excited that I could purchase half a watermelon and was needing to find multiple ways to consume it before it went slimy ~ win win right?

Watermelon Salad
~
Ingredients*
Watermelon
Spinach
Rocket
Cucumber
Triple Smoked Ham
Halloumi
Asparagus
Fresh Lime
Salt & Pepper
*I didn't put in proportions because I guesstimated and it depends on how much you want to eat and how many people you want to feed!

Method:
Cut halloumi into slices and asparagus in pieces and place into the pan with olive oil, salt & pepper and the juice of one lime. Cook this until the halloumi turns golden brown
~
Place a handful of spinach and rocket onto a plate. Add the cut up watermelon, cucumber and shaved ham over the greens
Once the halloumi is cooked and no longer soft, place onto cutting board and slice into cubes
~
Place the asparagus and halloumi onto the salad and drizzle the left over lime juice and oil on top
~
Season with salt & pepper

Enjoy!
This was absolutely delish so I highly recommend you try it out...right now...seriously go!
I am already considering how acceptable it would be for me to eat this for breakfast.... it was that good!
~
Have a wonderful day / night wherever you may be as you read this

Her Fashion Box - November Box

Hello there, happy weekend to you!
Today I am posting about a monthly subscription box that I have been receiving since June this year. I wanted to wait awhile before posting to ensure it was something I wanted to recommend to you all. Thus far I have been absolutely loving it and am rather impressed so I am happy to share it with you all!
~
Might be a good idea if I actually tell you what I'm talking about huh? It is called Her Fashion Box and hails from Sydney. What exactly is it? Well you purchase a subscription and choose a style, fill out a questionnaire and then each month you are sent a box to your door filled with beauty and fashion items. You receive 3 fashion items and 4 deluxe beauty samples (often full size!) for the price of $39.95 however the box value is never under $110, so you are most certainly receiving value for money ♥
~
In this post I have my November box which I recieved last week, I have it sent to my work so I always get a tad excited when our mailman comes in with this hot pink box!

The actualy box that contains the products is black and has a snap shut lid that is magnettic - really great quality box that you can keep and re-use. I use mine to store makeup, nailpolishes and jewels ♥

Here is everything that was in the November box - there was actually 4 beauty items, 4 jewerly items and 2 hair accessories along with a card and the HFB Mag

The jewerly was: a set of bangles, a wrap bracelet, a ring and a necklace ~ all bases covered!

I'm sorry but how dang cute is this ring? ♥ Perfect little addition to a casual summers day outfit

This necklace may be my favourite thing I've received yet - it is so well made and so unique. It looks like lace but it actually pieces of metal - just beautiful!

The hair accessories for this month were a hair bun and a headband. I have a few hair buns in multiple sizes and was happy to add another size to the collection. These give you the sleekest, easiest bun to make and they look amazing. The headband has a twist in it and I think I shall enjoy getting use out of this throughout summer, the beach is calling me!

An added bonus this month was the cutest coolest card I think I have ever seen. It has a chalkboard on the front that you can write whatever you like on, then detatch it and display. I am still undecided as to if I can give this away or just keep it for myself - daily quotes of positivity sounds the perfect use for it!

Beauty wise we have a Model Co full sized gel eyeliner, a Rituelle body balm in the perfect handbag / travel size and then x2 Orly nail polishes with a bonus of the toe divider thingy-magigs.

I am yet to give the eyeliner a go as I have too many opened at the moment, but I really like Model Co as a brand so I hope it doesn’t disappoint. The Rituelle lotion smells divine and I plan to take it on weekend trips away ♥

The nail polishes I received are in Marshmallow and Mirror Mirror. I have been searching for a grey solid nail polish for such a long time so I'm so happy to have this. The pink I think will be perfect for those weeks when I don’t want crazy colours on my nails, and a perfect toe colour. I used the Mirror Mirror last night and it is really great quality – opaque in one coat! I’ll have to keep you updated on how well it wears but I’m super happy with it thus far!

Last up is the magazine which is produced by the HFB team, showing you the three styles and what each style received for the month (there is Classic which I have, Trendy and Feminie). They also show the current trends and how the items are associated with them, along with product info on the brands etc. I really enjoy this mag, it is a great addition to the box ♥

And that's a wrap on the November HFB! Let me know what you think, do you have it? Which style are you? Would you consider purchasing it? Favorite item in this box?
~
I think I may start to show you each month what I recieve and then some months do a review on the items and if I used them / showing them worn etc.

What I Wore: Yoga Workout

Hello all, hope you are well ♥

Here we have an outfit post of what I wore to my yoga class last week. I have just gotten back into yoga and am absolutely loving it! It’s the perfect way to stretch out the body, lengthen the spine and help tone muscles. But even more important than all that is the mental and spiritual 'fitness' that you can gain from a yoga class. It really helps to de-clutter your mind, calm you down, eliminate stress and go a bit 'Zen' for 1 1/2 hours. I ♥ ♥ ♥ it! It’s the perfect addition to an active lifestyle to help balance everything out!

~

After my class I was feeling all Zen and centred when I thought that there may be people out there wanting to try yoga but not sure what to wear! There are a few factors to consider so I hope this post helps!
~

First up and one of the best things is you go barefoot! No need for wiz bang boo shoes here ladies, so thongs are a goer for me, easy to slip off and simple to grab and go
~
For the bottom half I like to go with three-quarter tights in summer or if you’re in winter go for full length. I think that they can be tight or loose, whatever you find more comfortable. I wouldn’t opt for loose shorts though, as some moves you have your legs up in the air and I know that I don’t particularly want to be showing off ALL of my legs to an entire class if you catch my drift!
~

Top half I actually recommend you opt for a tighter form fitting top - be it tank or tee or long sleeve. When you wear a loose top downward dog with your head down and your butt up in the air makes that top cover your face - not comfy and not a good look with it rolling up your back about to come off!

Tighter tops won’t move around so you can focus on the movement, not moving your tee off your face! Sports bra wise, I just like to wear a sports bra for comfort, but you needn’t worry too much about support as there is no HIIT intervals here, just one that fits you well is best

~

Accessories wise, I recommend a head band if you've got longer hair or a fringe. I always want my hair away from my face so I pull it into a top bun and then a headband to get those pesky fine hairs away. Lots of studios have fans or cooling on also, and I hate when trying to be Zen and meditating having those fly-aways tickle my face!

Then I always recommend you have a water bottle, yoga class or not! I think my water bottle and I are in a serious relationship, it comes everywhere with me. Water is my best addiction yet, so find yourself a cute water bottle and keep it by your side! Cotton On Body have a tone of nice ones ♥
~

Finally, most yoga studios will have matts there for you to use, some will charge you extra - some are included in the class fee. Either way you do need one, I would say give yoga a go for a few classes to see if it’s something you think you’re going to want to do often, and then if it is invest in your own matt. Mine is from Lorna Jane and I love it, its super thick and soft but you can grip into it so there are no awkward slips during those balancing moves! They don’t advertise the matts online for some reason, but they are in the stores
~

And there we have it, my guide to what to wear for yoga.

Do you do yoga? What do you wear?
