Travel: A few last minute items

Is it just me or do you find yourself having a list as long as your arm of things you need to buy BEFORE an overseas trip!?
Hi there, welcome back to my dot on the inter webz! Today I wanted to show you a few quick snaps of some last minute things I grabbed the other day for my next adventure. Truthfully I probably didn't totally did really require these...but I'm all about making travel as easy as possible so you can better enjoy the wanderlust experience and not be bothering with 'where the heck did I put my iPhone charger?!' scramble as your getting onto the Metro or whilst standing in front of a magnificent view!
~
I was at the shops on the weekend in the attempt to get in get out quick smart (never works that way for girls does it? Darn gruen transfer occurring!
(which is by the way one of my favourite marketing terms; the definition being - Gruen Transfer: 'In a shopping-mall design, the Gruen transfer is the moment when consumers enter a shopping mall and when surrounded by an intentionally confusing layout, lose track of their original intentions' Like when you go to get milk and come out with three pairs of new jeans....yeah that lol).
Anywho, I was walking to my car ready to go I promise and I was dragged into Typo...again totally not my fault! They have so many knick knacks that I just love puroozing through there (stationary addict right here). I found two items I thought would be well suited to come with me on my adventure and they were just too cute not to share!

Wanderlust Diary (only in stores but they have a bunch of cute ones online): LINK!
Pencil Case: LINK!

So a pencil case you say, Sarah do you plan on carrying around a bunch on pens or something? Well nope I don't, I am planning to use this as my cord bag. As we live in this world on not being able to last a day without some form of technology, be it phone or laptop or camera I have figured I am going to be requiring +5 different chargers! Having a set case for them all where they can live in a neat tied up fashion is going to suit me and my suitcase immensely! I am all about creating more space in that tiny suitcase to fill with the wonders I find whist away! (aka clothes)

This notebook was just too perfect to not buy, even if I had no use for it; it was coming home with me! I actually did have a purpose for it. I use the Lorna Jane diary for my day to day planning and what not but it is just a tad too big/heavy and bulky for me to want to take away so I'm going to use this one to log my workouts, jot down flight times and anything else that tickles my fancy!

So they are some of the last minute buys I'm picking up - I leave in a few days so I would love to hear what your last minute flight/travel essentials are, my list is slowly but surly shortening; here's hoping I have nothing left on it by the time I step onto the plane!

Adorning in April #16: Running Essentials

Happy Wednesday to you!
I hope you've had a good day thus far. My day was a good one, it always is when I make the conscious effort to think positive and enjoy the smaller things in life.
~
I went for a run after work today around the main lake here in Canberra, it is by far my favourite thing about this city. Being by water is so refreshing, resetting and calming to me; I just love it.
Anyway my current goal with running is to be able to run 5km in under 30 minutes. I had a break from running whilst moving a few months ago so getting back into it was tough! I started out doing 5km in 36min and today I ran it in 30mins and 55 seconds - so close! I'm hoping my next run will be under 30..... wish me luck! After that who knows, 5km in 25mins? I'm really aiming to be able to run with my Dad who averages 5min kms!
~
Below I have a photo of a few of my go to items for running, the essentials I always take.
First up I cannot run without some tunes so the Lorna Jane Arm Band is essential. It hold my iPod and iPhone (iPod for the music and iPhone for the running tracker, yes I separate the two lol). Plus I love the quote on it. Next up I need a way to take my car key or house key with me as often I'm not wearing workout gear with pockets. I have found these Cotton On zip wrist bands to be amazing, they come in a bunch of colours, are cheap and do the job perfectly! They often have them online, but when they don't they are always in store. Lastly, I always wear a good sports bra whilst running, because.. well, you know. I know it may seem I am a crazed Lorna Jane addict (I am, yes) but I do actually own other workout brands! Nike is always a no fail choice, and this one it great because it is reversible!
So there we have it, a few of my must have items for running. I'm thinking I may do a video on this topic to show all the items I find the best for running in particular (i.e. the perfect sock that doesn't get eaten by your runners) let me know if you'd be interested in that!
Have a great evening
xoxo

Hello all!
Here is a What I Wore, a Saturday edition. As I am writing this I am hiccuping like crazy! - so annoying!
Anywho, this is what I wore out for a brunch with my beautiful friend then a casual afternoon with the beau, went for an afternoon stroll and just relaxing a home! All in all, a chilled out Saturday.
I love this shirt, it speaks to me haha. But seriously, this printed tee trend is taking off ~ or is it just my addiction? I teamed it up with a blazer to make it a little less casual. Added my super comfy ripped up bf jeans and my concealed heal, high tops to tie in the black.
I love these shoes, they are so comfy but still give me some added height in a super casual look!
~
Hope you all have a great weekend!!

What I Wore: Wednesday 24.7.13

just casually rocking the goof ball face, lol.

Hi all, hope your doing well!
Here is another What I Wore post, havent done one in awhile, its been so darn cold I haven't wanted to go outside lol. I'm going to start putting the date in the tittle as well, purely so when I'm an oldie I can see what I was wearing and when, its kinda nice to have a fashion diary in an online picture form.
~
The shirt I have is an ode to YSL, and you may have seen these printed shirts going around everywhere at the moment! But the deets on the meaning on this is that the current creative director Hedi Slimane took complete
creative control of the brand and had the owners sign a
contract, then Hedi changed the name of the brand from

Yves Saint Laurent (YSL) to Saint Laurent Paris (SLP).
Crazy right?! But he did back himself up by stating that YSL
was a visionary in fashion and he was continuing his vision.
YSL was the first ever high end designer to create suits for
women and the first to create a Prêt-à-Porter line (ready to
wear) which was crazy at the time!

~

So who knows, maybe it will be a positive thing?! What are
your thoughts on it? For me right now I say long live YSL - it
just ain't Laurent without Yves!
