Impress Juices

Welcome back!
Today I wanted to share with you one of my newest obsessions - Impressed Juices!
~
I dunno about you but I am always on the look out for fresh, affordable juices that have no added muck to them. I am that person in the supermarket drinks aisle reading the back of every bottle yelling out to my fiancĂ© (YES! More on that soon!) - "and this one isn't even real juice - its reconstructed!"
~
I love drinking juice as a snack to throw in a bunch of nutrients from fruit and veggies all at once, I often buy really expensive juices because its hard to find cheaper one that have no additives.
~
Enter Impressed Juices - these bad boys are sold in Woolworths across Australia, are cold pressed (YES), made with fresh produce, no additives and the fruit and veggies they use are all grown in Australia. I mean!!! Best part? They are $3.50 a bottle. AMAZING!
~
I am obsessed.
They currently have 4 different flavours, but on this day I could only get my hands on three of the four.

This one is the Berry Beats, the newest juice of theirs hitting stores across Australia as we speak. It has beetroot, cucumber, strawberry, blueberry, pear and carrot. It. Tastes. So. Good! This is the perfect juice to have if your not too keen on the super green stuff as it is mostly fruit and the beetroot actually gives it a really nice sweetness.

This one is their Summer Greens with spinach, pineapple, kale, apple, cucumber and mint. It is so refreshing with that hint of mint in it, I love this one on super hot days.

The Ginger Ninja! This one has carrot, apple, ginger and turmeric. This one is sweet but you can just tell its doing you good! I had so many of these when I was sick as its a perfect pick me up for your body when its run down.
~
The other one that I didn't manage to grab on this day is another green juice they have called 'The Works'
It is probably the most hard-core one of the bunch having apple, cucumber, celery, fennel, kale, parsley and lemon. I love this one for a really good health kick (aka the day after I've indulged ha!).

Overall I am so impressed with these juices (see what I did there lol), they are fresh, natural, healthy, tasty, home grown and at a price point I am more than happy to pay. I cant wait for the rest of the food industry to catch onto making healthy wholesome food more accessible!
~
Have you tried these? If you have what's your favourite one? I actually think mine is the Ginger Ninja!
You can check out all the nutritional facts etc over on their website HERE!
~
Enjoy your day
xoxo

Lifestyle: Mum Comes to Town

Welcome back to Adorn Beauty, I've got a lifestyle post to share with you today.
~
How good are Mums? Seriously, if you've got one nearby go give them a cuddle. They just always seem to know what to do, what to say and how to help. Well my mum does anyway, and she recently came to spend a few days with us which was just so nice. I honestly feel like my life is that bit easier with my mum around!
~
Below are some shots from one of our days out, we came into the city in Brisbane so I could show her some of my favourite spots.

We got the train into central and this is right as you come out of the exit - building galore, I love it so much.

Wearing
Tights: Dharma Bums - LINK!
Shoes: Nike - LINK!
Top: Lorna Jane - LINK!
Jacket - Target - Similar HERE!
Backpack - Nike - LINK!

We strolled through the centre of the city to head to a yoga class, there are so many building I could take photos of, they are each so different.

We then did a 45min deep stretch yoga class at Stretch Yoga - LINK!
We only did 4 poses in the 45 minutes! It was all about really settling into each pose, I really enjoyed it and would happily recommend any of the classes from here.

The walls are so lovely, the studio has been done up really well. They have little plants all along one wall and quotes throughout.

We then headed to Jaime's Italian for some lunch (of which I totally forgot to photograph, but it was delicious! If you ever go order the polenta fries, SO good!) and headed for a walk to the other end of the city to check out the Botanical Gardens.
Macro Mum clearly in her element here!

The gardens are gorgeous, I love that there is a beautiful green area with the city right there too

After that it was a walk back to the train and home we went.
~
I hope you enjoyed this little snippet into a day with my Mum, what do you normally do with your Mum?

THIS WEEK: Favorite Workout

Hello! Today I wanted to share with you my current favourite workout!
As you all are probably well aware of by now I follow Tone It Up, and dun dun dun I am actually headed off to LA at the end of this week (golly gosh) to go on the TIU Retreat!
Craaaazy! I am going to be meeting Karena and Katrina after workout out with them almost daily for two years haha!
~

Tone It Up: The Best Ab Workout Routine http://laurenconrad.com/blog/2014/03/tone-it-up-the-best-ab-workout-routine/
Anyway my current favourite workout is one of theirs of course. I am obsessed with working out my abs - anyone else? Its the once muscle group you can work daily and don't need to give it a break like most of your other muscle groups - so in the lead up to the Retreat I have been doing this workout daily along with my other toning and cardio exercises.
My stomach is also probably the one spot on my body that I am really aware of and growing up it was what I was most self conscious about, so working it out a lot helps with my confidence!
Bikini Abs!

NEW #BIKINISERIES Bikini ABS Routine!
This workout burns! But in the best way possible. I love all the moves, they are fun but work like nothing else! Give it a go and let me know how you feel after!

Goodluck!!!

RECIPE: Broccoli Basil Chilli Pasta

Hello there, welcome back!
Today I want to share with you all a recipe I made a few weeks ago when I was craving some comfort style food! This recipe is super simple, super quick and super tasty!

Ingredients:
Wholemeal Pasta
Broccoli
Basil
Chilli Flakes
Parmesan
Garlic
Olive Oil
Pink Himalayan Salt
Pepper
~
Method:
1: Place water onto the stove to boil. Whilst it is heating up, cut up your broccoli and grate up some Parmesan cheese
2: Once the water is boiling, put in some olive oil and pink sea salt and throw in the wholmeal pasta. I normally cook pasta for around 12 minutes, so once you feel its halfway done throw in the broccoli too
3: Once both the pasta and broccoli are cooked, drain the pasta but keep a cup of the water it was cooking in
4: Put back onto the stove, add the crushed garlic, chilli flakes, basil, parmesan and cup of water and mix all together
5: Plate up and top with salt and pepper and some fresh basil!
~
YUM! So simple and easy to make but totally fail proof winner!
Let me know if you make it and what you think.

THIS WEEK: Top 5 Eats

Why hello there, welcome to a THIS WEEK post; where funnily enough i'll be posting something random for this week (great concept right?)
~
Anywho this week I wanted to share with you my at the moment top 5 favourite food items. I am one of those people who goes through phases of obsessions with certain foods and consume them as much as humanly possible until I either get sick of it or move onto the next obsession. I went through a phase as a kid of being addicted to butter menthols - cant stand the thought of eating them now as I overdid it! Here is hoping I don't do that again with any of my favourite foods!
~

#1 Pepita Seeds
I am just loving these little fellas at the moment. Small, green, crunchy - perfect addition to my granola, top of smoothies, in salads, on top of half an avocado as a snack - the list just goes on and on! Give them a go if you've never tried them before, something about the crunch of it is entirely satisfying, and the fact that they are green pleases me oddly.

#2 Granola
I'm more than sure I don't need to harp on about this one too much, if you've read THIS POST then you get it (are you addicted yet??)

#3 Almond Flakes
Ahhh almond flakes, there is just something about them being cut this way that I really like, I prefer this style of almond over whole or chopped - the thin-ness and crunch... so good! I have been having a handful mixed in with my all time fav breakfast (recipe HERE), or roasting some to top salads with, and of course they are a big feature in the Granola and I may stand in the kitchen picking them out to munch on! #obsessed

#4 Tahini Dressing
Lately I have been trying to spruse up meals with interesting salad dressings - you make a good dressing you can make the entire meal that much better in my opinion! A new favourite of mine that I go to a few times a week is incorporating Tahini!
oh merrrr this is so TASTY! It is also boyfriend approved which is a sure sign its good right? This dressing is so perfect with fish and salad - try it on your next meal I dare ya!
Recipe: Tablespoon of Tahini Paste
Juice from half a lemon
Juice from half a lime
Dash of soy sauce
Put it all into a jar and shake it up and top on salads or fish!

#5 Hazelnut Cocoa Spread
Oh me oh my.... as a nutella addict this may be my most favourite find this year.... yes!
Nutella is all full of sugar and has no nutritional value so I try to avoid it, so when browsing in the health food in Coles I spotted this and nearly did a dance right then and there as I scanned the jar.
IT TASTES LIKE NUTELLA PEOPLE!
But it only has hazelnuts and cacao and its organic..... I mean!!?!!
This is the ultimate treat for me, I am obsessed! I have it spread over quiona brown rice crackers and sometimes I just have a spoonful (my favourite way to eat it), it also tastes amazing put into a protein smoothie with banana!

So there we have it, 5 of my favourite food items right now, here is hoping I don't overeat any of them so that it turns me off.... highly doubt it!

Recipe: Coconut Chicken and Salad

Hello there, welcome back! Today I have a recipe to share with you that I made last week and it was a hit! It was one of those throw it all together and hope it turns out ok and it did so I wanted to document it to remind myself to make it again!
~
Coconut Chicken & Salad - Serves 4 people

Ingredients
500 Grams Chicken Strips
1/4 Cup Egg Whites
1/2 Cup Coconut Flour
2 Handfuls Rocket
2 Handfuls Spinach
1/3 Cup Quinoa
(How to cook Quinoa HERE! )
1 Carrot
2 Tablespoons Pine Nuts
1 Apple
Drizzle of Pomegranate salad dressing

Method:
1: Get out two bowels and fill one with some egg whites and the other with the coconut flour
2: Coat the chicken strips in the egg whites with one hand and the coconut flour with the other hand and place onto a plate
3: Once all covered place into frying pan with olive oil on med to low heat and allow to cook, turning a few times (you don't want the heat too high otherwise it will burn the flour but not cook the chicken!)
4: While the chicken is cooking combine all the salad ingredients into a bowl - you can put anything into the salad you like but I personally find apple and pine nuts go together really well!
5: Cover the salad in dressing of choice - I am obsessed with pomegranate dressing at the moment!
6: Check the chicken is cooked by cutting on in half and making sure there is no sign of pink!
7: Serve up and enjoy!

So as you can see this recipe is SUPER easy and REALLY quick - what more could you want when asked to throw together a meal whilst starving! This is extremely healthy too, with the chicken providing protein and the salad full of vitamins and minerals; it will not only taste good but it will make you feel good too!
~
Let me know if you go ahead and make this and what you think of it! I like to think of it as a cleaner/healthier version of chicken schnitzel! Coconut flour is becoming more readily available too, but if its not in your local grocery store check out a health store!
