Wanderlust Book for Yogis

Welcome back! Today I wanted to share with you a book that I am loving at the moment.

I haven't yet shared on here I don't think but I am currently on my way to becoming a certified yoga teacher! I began my training in November last year and am aiming to be finished and teaching by the end of this year #goals.
This book was one I picked up prior to confirming that I wanted to embark on Yoga Teacher Training and it is a great insight into a lot more things Yoga related which is why I wanted to share it with you in case maybe your considering it or you just want to deepen your practise.

Wanderlust: A Modern Yogi's Guide To Discovering Your Best Self is all about Yoga on and off the mat and a guide on living an authentic life.

It has beautiful imagery, words, mottos, guides and more. There is information on the 8 limbs of Yoga and what that means, places to write in ideas and thoughts and dreams, music playlists, recipes, yoga flow guides and stories from Yogis.

It's a great book to pick up and open at any page to get a nugget of information or to sit down and read chapter by chapter.

The authors of this book are the founders of the Wanderlust Festivals that happen all over the world. Look HERE to see if there is one near you, I hope I get to go to one soon!

If your keen on yoga and want to know more about what yoga means off the mat or thinking about starting a Yoga Teacher Training course I would highly recommend checking out this book.
I also have actually started a new website relating to all things Yoga! It's partly for my teacher training as a place to put all my assignments and also to type through my experiences so I don't forget the journey. You can check that out HERE if your interested! It's www.sarahandyoga.com

FOOD: Dock Kitchen London

Hello all, welcome back!
Today I have a throwback post for you - to about a year ago. This is a food post of the restaurant Dock Kitchen in London which I went to with my parents when I was over there visiting my bestie.
~
Located in West London, this restaurant is situated in the nicest setting with beautiful glass panels of an old Wharf Building and a canal just out the front. Stevie Parle is the head chef here and my parents knew about this place due to a TV show they had watched called Spice Trip.
~
They are really inventive with their meals and offer seasonal dishes with a set menu that gets changed often. We went with the set menu that was summer themed. I would recommend going with whatever the set menu happens to be the night you go - its a fun way to experience food you may not have had before!

Entre was fresh bread that was still warm ... mmm

Seriously how gorgeous is my Mumma!

Pappa Bear and I

First course was a soup - this was crab and spinach

Main was steak with potatoes, asparagus, brussel sprouts and some beans - the flavours were so good

Dessert was this really fresh vanilla ice-cream with a jelly that had flowers through it!

I really enjoyed this evening out and getting to experience a meal that was a set menu; something that I don't generally lean towards when dining out.

If your in London I would defiantly recommend you give this place a try and if your visiting pop it on your list! You can view their website HERE

Getaway Part Two

Hello and welcome back!
Here I am today with part two of my getaway! If you have no clue what I'm on about read THIS first!
~
So we started our Saturday with a breakfast recommendation at the Quarterdeck. This place was funky, best way I can describe it would be if the TV show Friends was by the ocean it would be in this cafĂ©!

Everything was a bit miss matched but all went together somehow. The owner was super friendly, he collects Hawaiian Shirts and wears a different one each day.

The coffee got a thumbs up from me, and the mocha was top notch for the BF, so much so that we ordered seconds as takeaway to leave with!

He had Eggs Benedict and said they were deelish

I had Banana bread with a ricotta spread and local honey - the side of tomato was from Chris's plate, he is not a tomato lover (I know, strange fella!)

After our leisurely breakfast, we grabbed our takeaway coffees and headed for a drive to Tilba, perhaps THE cutest little town. The scenery was just amazing; we both kept saying that we felt like we were in Ireland or something, so green and lush with rolling hills and amazing trees.
~
We stopped in Tilba to get some creamed honey for Mum at the cheese factory and then strolled up and down the main street. My Dad is the biggest sweet tooth so we got him some lollies from this gorgeous old school lolly shop.

This is the petrol station.... I mean.... how dang cute!

Then there was the entire shop dedicated to tea.

This photo cracks me up too much, such a goof. He looks like Woody out of Toy Story to me for some reason!

I then proceed to not take any more photos on my big girl camera for the rest of the day, however we did do a lot! Here are a few from my mobile.
~
We headed out to play golf!

Chris is a big golfer so it was fun to go and play with him, this golf course was absolutely beautiful too - right by the ocean, and one of the holes you have to hit it over the ocean to the other side of the cliff!

Hat: Nike
Collared Shirt - Lee
Long Sleeved Top: Nike

This was the hole you had to hit over the water! Chris did really well! I may have hit around it lol. Surprisingly I found that I wasn't shocking at golf, its quite fun to wack a ball and watch it fly through the air! I would recommend as a fun date with a guy if you've never done it before.

After 18 holes and like 4 hours later we finished up and headed back to our hotel to refresh and figure out what to do for dinner. We ended up going to a Thai place in the centre; it was yummy but not overly amazing so I wont say which one it was. A nice night out though.
~
The next day it was time to head home, we took the long way along the ocean and stopped by my favourite cafĂ© on the coast to have the most epic chicken burger - biggest treat for me I love it! I have been known to take day trips to the coast for this burger haha. And of course I forgot to document it, twas just to excited!
We then had a bit of a chill at the beach pictured below, I decided to be nuts and go swimming in the water! It was FREEZING lol but such a great way to re-set and feel refreshed.

It then poured down in rain so we started the drive home. I always love the drive to the coast and really don't like the drive home. Must be something about getting further away from the beach. Im a beach girl at heart trapped in a city that doesn't have one .... sob sob.
~
Anywho, we had a great little getaway, sometimes its just the thing needed to have a step out of your home town, regular routine and just relax and revive yourself!
~
I hope you enjoyed!!

Tone It Up RETREAT Day 4!

Well hello there and welcome back!
Today I have my final instalment of the Tone It Up Retreat posts. I've almost delayed posting this on purpose because that means it really is over lol I've been re-living it with all these posts and photos!
~
So the final day began with a yoga class run by Lacey Calvert, to be honest this was the first yoga class i've ever done feeling slightly 'hungover' - lots of champagne the night before + little to no sleep made downward dog a challenge for me!!! Lol nonetheless I really enjoyed the class - Lacey was wonderful. She has one of those voices that is so calming.

Hehe my roomie rocking the downward dog much better than me!!

After yoga it was brunch and time to say goodbye (sob).

Emily being a babe that she is

Having my TIU photo frame signed by K&K

It was so wonderful to finally get to not only meet K&K but spend time with them over 4 days - I mean how lucky were we all ladies?! How you see them on their videos is just how they are in real life. The positivity, happiness and fun you feel through their videos is amplified when your around them, honestly it was such an inspiring trip and has given me so much more confidence to chase my dreams and choose to be happy each day. I am so grateful to get to be at the first ever retreat and experience it with so many incredible, inspiring, strong and uplifting woman. WOW. It was a once in a lifetime thing and something I'm never going to forget.

Last selfie with my beautiful Steph - I miss you so much girl! We decided we should get married so I can go and live with her - I'm sure my BF won't mind that at all right?!

Brynn! This ball of laughter and light was such a GEM to be around. Through the wonders of instagram I already felt like I knew her (that was a common occurrence all weekend and it was so strange lol, seeing people and going oh hey I know you so well...wait a minute we've never met! haha). Getting to finally meet in person tho was priceless. Friends for life I've made.

After saying goodbye to most people, Hannah, Sarah, Jenny, Emily and I went for lunch at True Food Kitchen - a MUST if you are ever in Newport or Cali! It was so nice, tasty and healthy - win win win!

~
And there we have it. Later on this day I packed up my stuff and headed to LAX - which by the way was THE most smoothest, easiest and stress free travel experience i've ever had! If your off to the states anytime soon use Uber for you taxis, they are brilliant! I got from Newport to LAX and then checked my luggage in and got through security in under an hour...... insane! So that was super nice as I had time to walk around, get some dinner, pick up last minute gifts and stroll onto my 16 hour flight stress free!
~
Thank you for following along with these posts. I had the most wonderful time and it was full of positivity and happiness so I am now focusing on carrying that through all elements of my day to day life. I am excited to see what my next adventure will hold!
xoxo
