The Red Lip



 The Red Lip, a classic and timeless look. The perfect go to look when you don't actually want to wear a lot of makeup but still make an impact with it, the perfect stand out look, easy but effective and overall a very fun and confidence boosting look! No wonder its a classic! 
Today I'm going to show you the steps I take to get my version of the perfect red lip.
Tip: go for a blue undertone in your red lipstick to make your teeth appear whiter! 

My Red Lip Essentials:
Lush Lip Scrub - LINK!
EOS Lip Balm - LINK!
Mac Lip Liner in 'Cherry' - LINK!
Revlon Lipstick in 'True Red' - LINK! 

Step 1: 
First up, I scrub my lips with this Lush Lip Scrub in Bubblegum to remove any flaky bits and dead skin so I am working with a clean surface!

Step 2:
I apply a lip balm, a firm favourite is the EOS Lip Balms, this one in is strawberry, however any lip balm will do; you just want to put some moisture back into your lips. 

Step 3:
Lip Liner! A step so many people leave out, but such an important one. If you want your lipstick to last for well over half a day (which includes eating), then lip liner is a must! Mac's Cherry is by far the best I have found.

I know I look cuckoo but i always do the outline first and take my time to make sure it right.  

Then I fill the entire lip in. You could leave it here if you are wanting to go for a matte look lip, otherwise it is the perfect base for your lipstick. 

Final step apply the lippy, I love this revlon one in True Red, it has the perfect colouring for my skin. I find with the blue undertones it gives the teeth a nice glow!

What I Wore: Tuesday

Oh hi there, how you going?

Here is another work day look, I am obsessed with this Zara knit at the moment, it is so versatile. 

I have worn it as a top with jeans, with black tights, as a tunic to work with a black skirt to help lengthen it and out for dinner with black stockings. I am also obsessed with Benton Stripes so this also fits that square to a T. 

Days when I wear a basic outfit I like to throw one colour into the mix to make it a tad more interesting. Today it was the red lip, a blog post on how I do my basic red lip will be coming up soon!

Holiday Beauty: go to lips

Hello everyone,

As you have seen from a few of my most recent posts I have been on a holiday.

Whilst trying to pick what to pack makeup wise, I thought I would snap a few picks of what lip products I decided to take.

I think overall I picked a good selection, next time I think I would also throw in a bright coral - Mac Vegas Volt springs to mind.

The Revlon Red lip was perfect for one of our dressy nights out for dinner, the Maybelline is really that 'my lips but better' colour so it suited the plane trip to a T, Macs bright pink was perfect for nights out, Macs Shy Girl is my holy grail nude colour and suits almost every occasion - I wore it mostly during the day and finally Macs chatterbox is the perfect pink, just the right shade so that it isn’t too overboard.

Overall I was happy with what I picked, I didn’t actually wear them all too much as I was on the beach all day everyday (ahhh the beach), so lip balm with sunscreen in it was much more used than anything! But I think for a non beach holiday, this selection would keep you covered no matter what outfit or situation!

Revlon: Creme Blush

I think I have found my new favorite winter product, creme blush. 

The one below is quite subtle which I like for everyday wear, or with a more heavy eye look. 

I intend to get the pink version of this one also. 

Are there any creme blushes you can recommend? Now that I'm obsessed with them? 

I use a Real Techniques brush to apply it on, makes it oh so easy.

Accent Nail Love

I am currently obsessed with accent nails. Give me any color nailpolish, any accent glitter, my ring finger and I am content to stare at my hands multiple times daily.
