FOOD: Dock Kitchen London

Hello all, welcome back!
Today I have a throwback post for you - to about a year ago. This is a food post of the restaurant Dock Kitchen in London which I went to with my parents when I was over there visiting my bestie.
~
Located in West London, this restaurant is situated in the nicest setting with beautiful glass panels of an old Wharf Building and a canal just out the front. Stevie Parle is the head chef here and my parents knew about this place due to a TV show they had watched called Spice Trip.
~
They are really inventive with their meals and offer seasonal dishes with a set menu that gets changed often. We went with the set menu that was summer themed. I would recommend going with whatever the set menu happens to be the night you go - its a fun way to experience food you may not have had before!

Entre was fresh bread that was still warm ... mmm

Seriously how gorgeous is my Mumma!

Pappa Bear and I

First course was a soup - this was crab and spinach

Main was steak with potatoes, asparagus, brussel sprouts and some beans - the flavours were so good

Dessert was this really fresh vanilla ice-cream with a jelly that had flowers through it!

I really enjoyed this evening out and getting to experience a meal that was a set menu; something that I don't generally lean towards when dining out.

If your in London I would defiantly recommend you give this place a try and if your visiting pop it on your list! You can view their website HERE

FOOD: Bill's Cafe Covent Garden

Well hello there, how are you today?
I wanted to start doing a few new themed posts, some titled THIS WEEK with what's been on my mind for the week, what I've been loving, what I'm obsessing over etc and then FOOD posts with reviews on places I eat out, favourite recipes, meal prep and all good things like that - what do you think? Too late, I'm doing it anyway! tehehe
~
So first up on this new FOOD series is a review on a place I ate whilst staying in London, Bill's Café in Covent Garden.

Bill's is a funky café / restaurant style place with a grocery store feel to it as all the walls are lined with produce. A cool thing you can do is they actually give you a grocery list when you sit down and you can tick off things on the list you'd like - they then collect the items whilst you eat and add the cost to your bill and give you the packed bag on the way out! Neat huh? I wish my weekly grocery shop was laid out like that!

There are actually Bill's cafes located all over England I believe, but I loved this one as it is tucked away in a courtyard so you can escape the hustle and bustle of the busy streets around Covent Garden.

Now onto the food! (drools). We ordered fried haloumi with herbs for a starter to share with a aioli dip - ermagawsh it was so yum

Mum ordered the spinach, avocado and sundried tomato salad - she really enjoyed it. Tip though, she did order the starter size and thought after that the main size would have been better.

I had the grilled chicken skewers with cous cous, pitta bread and a tzatziki sauce. I really enjoyed this meal, it was full of flavours that complemented one another, was the perfect size for a main meal for me and left me feeling satisfied and not uncomfortable. 4/5 for me!

Dad went with the burger - something I think is a classic at this restaurant, he really enjoyed it and said the chips were spot on!

Here is the business card for you with some details on where you can find it.
If your in the area I would recommend it for sure, I'm just sad I didn't get to go there for a breakfast, the menu looked just as good as the dinner one!
~
Have a great day!
xoxo

The Day I Got To Feel Like A Princess

Welcome to the day I got to feel like a princess. Legit.
As an incredibly special treat for my birthday, my amazing parents gifted me to High Tea at the Ritz in London. I know right, amaze!
Myself, Mum, Dad and my bestie Torz all headed out for an afternoon of piano playing, tea drinking, champagne sipping, miniature cake eating and attempted 'posh' talking at the Ritz; which is such a beautiful hotel.
I'll let the photo's do the talking as they explain how lovely it was, the beautiful room we were in and the amazing tasty treats we had!

Amazing China tea cup and saucer

My people (heart swells)

The delicious sandwiches and treats

Those flowers - oh! That background - wow!

Perhaps my favourite item on the day - scones with jam and cream, it was mouth watering!

As a surprise I was given a cake as well! Incredible! What made it even better was that everyone at the high tea having a birthday had a cake brought out for them and the piano man played happy birthday, but mine wasn't brought out - I didn't know about it at this stage. Mum then discreetly asked a waiter about it and I ended up having my own personal birthday song played and cake brought out! Lol it was so much fun, and at the end of the high tea our waiter gave Dad the bill and said 'Sir I took the liberty of taking the charge of the cake off the bill. One should not need reminding at the Ritz and I apologise.' Service or what?! The cake was SO YUMMY! It was full of mango and strawberries - fresh, with cream and sponge cake......I am drooling for another piece now!

5 star luxury right there - it is such a majestic and old worldly place

My parents, best friends, travel buddies and more! I am SO THANKFUL to have the family I do and the friendship that I have with my parents. It is so special and means the world to me.
~
If your ever in London and feel like a real big treat, I 100% recommend the High Tea at the Ritz, its a perfect way to experience a special side to London - and of course have some proper English tea!

Video: London & Paris

Well hello there!
Opps....I've not blogged in quite some time have I? Life is really happening at the moment full of an awful lot of things I need to deal with so sadly I've let the blog go down to the bottom of my to-do list. Alas this is ok as it is my spot on the web to put things whenever the mood strikes me, but for all of you lovely lot who do actually keep up on my little dot I do apologise!
~
To keep you in the loop I thought I would share a video I made from my holiday on here for you to have a gander at should you feel the urge.

What do you think?
Let me know!
~
Hopefully life will calm down a bit in the next few weeks and you can expect to start seeing some more regular posts appear.
